Throw back to April in one of the greatest places I’ve ever been: Byron Bay ❤️ aside from it being so so so beautiful I was absolutely IN LOVE with the community that was so obviously devoted to being earth friendly. You can’t find a plastic straw in Byron, I don’t think I ever saw one person carrying a plastic water bottle, the cafes had lines of people holding their own reusable “to-go” coffee cups, and folks actually sat down to have coffee and brunch rather than the incessant “take away” culture we have grown to steep popularity here in the USA that contributes in a real way to plastic pollution.
The little person running in that pic is me! Kinda looks like im running on the bridge to Poseidon’s world of 💦 ... this is Biarritz, a beautiful city in SW France on the Bay of Biscay, 35km from Spain and the Basque Country.
There is so much I want to say about Biarritz but Victor Hugo put it better than I can : “I have not met in the world any place more pleasant and perfect than Biarritz. I have never seen the old Neptune throwing joy and glory with such a force in the old Cybele. All this coast is full of humming. Gascony's sea grinds, scratches, and stretches on the reefs its never ending whisper.”
Ps Neptune is Poseidon (God of the sea) and also PS not surprising : Biarritz is a great surf town.
Happy Thursday #tbt to glamming out at #pelotonhomecoming ! Also swipe left and that’s peloton homecoming last year with the birthday boy @mattymaggiacomo love you so much Matty you’re a sweet angel Prince 👑
Happy Mother’s Day @sonsimsha ❤️ Auguri mammina! Buona festa della mamma. ❤️ pics from my childhood in Italy... mamma just recently became a US citizen, we grew up in a small farm town in Northern Italy and she was the first person in her family to go to high school and then to college, and then college again in the US where she studied in English, a language she learned in adulthood... for anyone who learned a language later in life, you know how tough that is!
To say I love the ocean is an understatement, this may sound strange but I love it the way one loves a parent. In a lot of ways, the ocean has been like a mother and a father, a wise one, that holds life in its body and expresses its love for all of us. Not just as sustenance, but also in the movements and dances we share with it. The ocean has taught me some of the most valuable life lessons. In its’ waters I learned humility, I learned respect, I learned a higher vibration of empathy, I learned aloha.
And so when people ask me why I’m so “amped” on getting rid of single use plastics, or ocean conservation, the answer is ... how would you feel if your mother and her house and all of your family that lived in her were being poisoned and treated like a garbage dump? You’d prob try to make change too.
Postcard! Just because I can’t stop/won’t stop sending all the good vibes out into the world! I’m still feeling the highs from #pelotonhomecoming . But also sending mucho aloha out to mia cugina @eleonorasimeoni sei una bellissima sposa! Sarebbe stato bello essere lì con voi, non vedo l’ora di vedervi, speriamo quest estate! Auguroni cugina e cugino @filippoyoublue

Do you remember swimming in the ocean or a lake or a river as a kid? What did it feel like? Did you feel free? Connected? Aware? Did you open your eyes underwater? Why? Did you open your eyes because you were scared, or because you wanted to see what was under there? What would you find there now?
