Happy Father’s Day to all the official and unofficial fathers out there. Peter, you weren’t perfect, but you were there...and P.S. thanks for that Copper Pinto and for teaching me how to change the oil! 😉 #fathersday
I was at the most 5 here. My mom loved to dress me like this. Scarf always in my hair. The bigger the belt the better. Tube tops. Ah the lovely childhood days when we girls didn’t yet know to suck in our bellies. The best thing about America to me was Central Park. I’d never seen anything like it. This is where you’ll find me this summer too: belly out, enjoying an Italian ice in Central Park 😂🍧 #fbf#summerinthecity#facepainting#citykid

Recently I went to a screening of @mindykaling & Emma Thompson’s @latenightmovie. Because it was done by Mindy, someone I have long admired and rooted for, I knew it would be funny, well written and that the acting from both women would be superb. What I did not expect, was that this seemingly delightful comedy would affect me so deeply.
The film addressed some serious and glaring inequities in the workplace with a smile and spoonful of sugar. It hinted at something deeper we brown girls feel so often in rooms where no one else looks like us.
As a woman of color in entertainment I’ve had so many doors slammed in my face over the years. I am over the moon that brown girls all over the world will get to see that if they work hard and develop their talents, they too can aspire to Mindy’s heights. 💪🏾 #latenight#browngirlsrock#desigirls
