#MotivationMonday Michelle Freyre, President of U.S. Beauty at @jnj moved her way up from Brand Manager at Neutrogena. This Latina has the perseverance, dedication, and work ethic that inspires us all.
She is the daughter of two immigrants and at 17 years old left Puerto Rico after being admitted into Yale University. There she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and then proceeded to Harvard, where she received an MBA in General Management.
She then commenced her role as Brand Manager at Neutrogena, later took a risk switching from her marketing role to sales. This was the best change that could’ve happened to her career. She said it made her a more well-rounded business leader.
She credits her mentor for pushing her to explore a wide variety of career options. This is something that has stuck with Freyre, which is why she believes in investing in today’s youth. She says fostering in younger generations of Latinas gives them the opportunity to grow. She is constantly advocating for diversity in the business world.
#FlashbackFriday to one of our covers featuring Salma Hayek a model turned actress and producer.
This Mexican-Lebanese was born in Mexico where she first began her acting career in the 1989 telenovela Teresa.
She then moved to Los Angeles to make her crossover into Hollywood, where she produced and starred in Frida. This film was nominated with six Academy Awards. Hayek was the first Latina to be nominated for best actress.
Her success only continues to grow as an inspiration for #Latinas.#LatinaExcellence#LatinaLegacy#SalmaHayek
Congratulations to these lovely Latinas! We were honored to be able to recognize these leaders in our community for all their work and achievements. Can’t wait to see you in August at the next #LSBS in Atlanta!
