Humans aren’t the only animals who deserve fundamental rights.
As many of you know, Hourglass has always been a cruelty free beauty brand, and we are proud partners of the Nonhuman Rights Project (NhRP). When they asked me to step in as trustee to Happy, one of their nonhuman clients, I jumped at the opportunity to support their efforts.
Happy is an Asian elephant who has lived in solitary confinement at the Bronx Zoo for 13 lonely years. We are currently working together to secure her release to a sanctuary, where she can grow old peacefully after 42 years in captivity. Unfortunately, the zoo refuses to let her go.
You can help! Urge the Bronx Zoo to release Happy by signing the petition to demand her freedom.
Visit the link in profile to sign the petition.
As always, thank you for your support. — Carisa Janes, Founder & CEO

Hourglass is a cruelty free brand and has pledged to become completely vegan in 2020. We’re dedicated to protecting animals because all living creatures are equal — because we all see eye to eye.
Beyond redefining what cruelty free means for the beauty industry, we continue to take it a step further by donating 1% of all hourglasscosmetics.com profits to our partner, the @nonhuman.rights.project . —— The Nonhuman Rights Project is the only civil rights organization litigating to secure fundamental rights to nonhuman animals.
