5 things I’ve learned from losing my voice for 11 days:
1. I miss telling Ezra “Hi, Baby!” when I get him from his crib in the morning.
2. We cancelled our Mother’s Day dinner reservation because there’s no way @ben.ja.mins would hear me whisper in a restaurant. I realized that conversation is what makes a date for us.
3. My Mom’s typically mild vision and hearing issues meant she couldn’t understand anything I’d say to her at all. She is always frustrated when my dad can’t hear her and now I’ve grown so much compassion for that struggle.
4. When you whisper, people automatically tend to whisper back.
5. Being quiet gives you more time to think, and more passion to be heard. 🗣
What a physically painful, challenging, humbling experience this has all been but I’m hoping that we are past the worst of it and I’ll get well soon. Both Aria and Ezra are sick again and it’s been all too easy to feel defeated but SURELY this can’t go on forever, right?! Here’s to future strong immune systems! 🤒😷🤧
3 generations in one photo ❤️
I’ve never been more grateful for the love and generosity of my mom as much as on this Mother’s Day since having Ezra. If one child takes a village, I’ve seen that play out from necessity this year no matter how terrible I am for asking for the help. She always manages to reschedule her appointments or call when she can’t. She cooks better than any 5-star restaurant and is still a shoulder for me to cry on and be completely vulnerable to. Most of all, she is my cheerleader and taught me to laugh through anything and fight tooth and nail for what I believe in. Thank you so much for being the amazing mother and grandmother you are! I’m so grateful that you moved all the way from Kansas to live closer to us and that I can capture these precious moments right where we are, as we are ❤️
Thank you to @googlepixel for helping me capture all of the important memories no matter how busy my life gets. Sometimes I can’t always grab the fancy camera but I’ll still treasure this photo FOREVER and I have the #pixel3a to thank for that! #ad 😭😍🙏
No matter the ups or downs, the sicknesses and tears and laughter, the difficulties life may throw our way, I am always here for you. Aria and Ezra, you are my everything and until I can’t lift a finger I will keep lifting you up.
I still may not have a speaking voice but I hope you know how much I love you even if it’s delivered as a whisper. Omma can’t wait to be better soon so I can shout with joy and giggle with you both again my loves ❤️

It didn't cross my mind until recently HOW MANY FACTORS there are to consider when applying makeup to attend a wedding from environmental and lighting changes to dinner and dancing! 🤔 Something my Mom always taught me is that when everyone is looking their best, you are being the most respectful when you bring your classy A-game too, but to balance that with not standing out so much it takes attention away from the bridal party. In addition to leaving your white dresses at home for the day, we want to make sure your foundation looks smooth and lasts all day, everything is cry-proof (cause you know without fail I ALWAYS tear up... just me? 😂) and of course the final look is photogenic! Hint: It's a good idea to splurge on a really amazing foundation so that it LASTS for the entire event! Because I got so many requests for this look, I wanted to share my wedding guest makeup in a tutorial with special attention to perfected skin thanks to @givenchybeauty Teint Couture Everwear foundation from @Sephora. There is only one thing we say to fear: NOT TODAY! 🐉🗡
My balance and flexibility are definitely not what they once were pre-kids but there’s something about hanging from the air that brings me right back to the memory of doing backflips off the bars during elementary school recess. I was always a bit of a 🤸🏻♀️so it’s only right that Aria was born the year of the monkey and seems to have gotten those climbing genes from me 🤣
Truthfully, this was my first time working out again after our huge storm cloud of illness these last couple of months and despite the nervousness of trying something new and the very real dizziness, aerial yoga was maybe exactly what I needed to remind myself that we still got this 💪
Have you guys tried any workouts that were outside your comfort zone and was it as bad as you feared it to be?
Who wore it better: me or @ben.ja.mins?
Hint: if these are technically “Bigfoot” shoes then I clearly have the advantage 🤣
So obsessed with the details on these @Nike Air Susans designed in collaboration with @laikastudios/@missinglinkfilm which is now in theaters (tickets are available at bit.ly/MissingLinkTix) Um, Bigfoot hair coming through the laces?! Bow tie? The colors 😍🧡💚 All of Nike’s collabs with LAIKA have been so rad but these by far are my favorite and I’m going to treasure these sneakers forever (maaaaybe I’ll let Ben borrow them sometimes too 🙄)!!!!
I started off this Easter Sunday so depressed because we couldn’t make it to church or take memorable family photos with eggs & ears since we were stuck at home with coughs and fevers, but right after @ben.ja.mins stopped to pray over Aria, I came over with Ezra and decided to pull out my phone anyway. Somehow, Ezra reached out to Aria and she took his hand right at the very moment I snapped this photo. Honestly, sometimes I’m at the point of tears when something like this tugs my heart in such an opposite direction that it snaps me back to the reality of how blessed we are. We may not have our health but my kids LOVE each other which is so gut-wrenchingly profound 😭 They’ve both grown so much and no matter how difficult, this too shall pass. So, so thankful for my little family and for all the ways Jesus has saved my life, and reminding myself that these moments, while not as curated, are every bit as memorable too 🙏
5 things I’m thankful for right now:
1. Puppies who are cuddly
2. When fevers break 🤒
3. My parents who rearranged appointments so they could help my sick family
4. @ben.ja.mins who is my backbone through thick and thin, in sickness and in health
5. The most amazing God who endured everything so that we could have grace and unconditional love 🙏
We’ve been so humbled these past couple of months, it only seems fitting that the light at the end of the tunnel would come right at Easter. Thankful for so much, for all the hardships endured that make the light so much more hopeful. Thankful for you guys for always being such a positive community of encouragement ☺️
