Working on technique and accuracy with @jeremiah.maestre . The difference the right coaches can make in your progress is legit amazing. When you start off with someone as meticulous as this guy, it can be a little depressing.....bc he points out all your flaws. But the difference he have made in my development has been awesome. HUGE respect brotha. Long way to go, but for SURE i’m dragging you on that journey with me 👊🏽 Thanks for being patient with me. Experiencing instruction from you helps me be a better teacher in what i do as well 🙏
It’s been a few months, but feels like yesterday. Got back to purity with one of the most demanding trainers i know, @jeremiah.maestre . TRUST ME, this kid will change you. The way you think, the way you assess details, your reaction times, and no better footwork coach out there. Do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself 👊🏽👊🏽thank you brother. and congratulations on the new addition to your family! @_annieelise and @turracha finally able to hook with my left again! not powerful, but progress!
Ive been a competitive athlete in several sports, from junior varsity to NCAA for the vast majority of my life. Durlng medical school and residency, sports took a mandatorily assigned back seat to my career, and i can honestly say i’ve never felt worse. It was hard to reinitiate a strenuous routine, especially after a traumatic spine fracture from a ski accident just as i was finishing up my training, but finally, i feel and perform better than i did 10
years prior. Often get asked how i initiated and kept up the motivation up to work out as often and intensely as i do, and my answer is always the same. Find a sport (or sports) that challenges you, mind and body, and is enjoyable as well as a partner or coach that pushes you to do your best. Its not always fun to get out of bed on a winter morning and drag your ass in to train. But it should be less painful than disappointing someone you respect. And like any other habit, it becomes second nature in time. thanks to the Gusmao brothers @turracha and @andregusmaomma for always taking the time to keep me going 👊🏽
Although Im the FIRST person to admit you probably shouldn’t be taking relationship advice from moi, 😜, i think like in business, ive learned a lot from my failures, that have hopefully helped me evolve into someone better. I’ve learned that the idea of someone “perfect” for you probably doesn’t exist, as our evolution as people is continuos and we are constantly changing. I’ve also learned, that a person that TRULY does their best to stand by you, day in, day out, with your flaws, your benefits, and you as a whole, is worthy of respect and loyalty. Romantic, platonic, or other. But today, i want to say a special thank you to a person that has been as supportive as i could possibly expect. As taken from a piece of art that hangs in my living room....”You’re worth the headache, baby .”😘
The bad: hit some bumps on my impractically overpowered jet ski this weekend, and my old iphone is now at the bottom of the Caribbean sea. The good: came back in one piece, and now have a new phone. And my son is very happy about that apparently ❤️. Anyone i didn’t answer....now you know why, so sorry in advance! and thank you to the beautiful @sabina_pl for the photo ❤️
i love my winter routine....but time to get back into SUMMER shape. i was sidelined with my arm and it threw me off for a long time mentally as well as physically.
it’s still not up to speed, but i’m DONE with it limiting me. Lucky to have a few other athletic outlets to mix it up. So back on this beast tomoro at 5am. And hopefully i’ll have quads like this again in a few months! 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽 📷 @ashleybernes
