These 19 black women ran to be county judges in Texas and every single one of them won. Campaigning as Democrats with the slogan "Harris County Black Girl Magic", their wins have partly been attributed to the insurgent statewide momentum generated by Beto O’Rourke and his army of grassroots activists. But ultimately, it was their historic achievement, and one that has given liberal Texans hope despite O’Rourke’s Senate loss to Ted Cruz.
