Daily Divination: 4 of Summer
When 4 of Summer turns up, you may be experiencing a state of “Divine Discontent.” The feeling may be of boredom, that life right now seems like it’s “the same old same old.” 4 of Summer can suggest sulking and moping about the things you’re experiencing.
The advice this card is offering you is similar to that scene in “Moonstruck” when Cher slaps Nicolas Cage and yells, “Snap out of it!”
But every card has a flip side. On a positive note, 4 of Summer can suggest help is on the way, suggested by the pleading cherub-like fairy trying to get the attention of the woman fairy. But he’s being overlooked by her; he’s out of her line of sight. She just has to be willing to pay attention and notice the sign that has appeared; right now, she can’t see what’s being offered to her because she appears to be preoccupied and distracted.
The diminutive fairy suggests that “signs” don’t come in larger-than-life sizes and flashing in neon (Wouldn’t that be great if they did?!). Rather, most of them are more subtle, like those things we catch out of the corners of our eyes, using our peripheral vision.
Don’t get so caught up with what’s going on around you that you let a gift or opportunity pass you by—because you didn’t notice it staring you right in the face when you had the chance.
