Mediterranean Diet ⬇️
I am against all restrictive and fad ‘diets’ (if you need to know why go back to my #nedaawareness post or reference the hundreds of clients I’ve worked with out of this cycle) but following Mediterranean ‘diet’ principles instead of removing whole food groups, juice cleansing or restriction is something I can get on-board with.
The focus: plants, fish, nuts, olive oil and wine in moderation if you already drink 🍷 I also explored Rome for 2 weeks in college and was able to see how the culture celebrates real, satisfying food without guilt 🍝
How that translates for me:
Wild salmon (frozen @aldiusa), lots of heart-healthy avocado, air-fried @traderjoes cauli gnocchi w Parmesan 🧀 and air-fried shishito peppers over a bed of greens w a tsp of olive oil drizzled. And a glass of @winesofsicily red wine from the island of Sicily on occasion. Love this full-bodied red with hints of strawberry and cherry-find these wines by looking for Sicilia DOC on the label🍷 🍇🍒

Yup – the weekend got a little out of control for me... so I missed my usual grocery haul day on Sunday. Therefore I hit @FreshThyme Farmers Market on my way home from the health club today. I love to shop in the early morning because it’s a little less busy.
So here is my usual routine:
▶I usually hit produce first. I typically buy a load of fresh fruits and veggies every week. Sometimes I have specific recipes in mind. This week, just planning to roast them up and use in grain/green bowls with some added avocado and protein (this week chicken). .
▶Next I typically get berries – full of antioxidants …we eat them by the handful or toss them in yogurt, oatmeal or Halo Top (my treat -always pick it up at #FreshThyme). .
▶I then head over to dairy case– today I got a dozen eggs to hard boil and yogurt. .
▶Also picked up some kombucha, oats, etc. .
▶You should check out the Fresh Thyme private label products – they are high quality at a good price. Today I got some Fresh Thyme olive oil (to roast veggies), tomato sauce, almond butter and frozen berries for smoothies. .
***Often times I get more – but I didn’t need any of the staples like quinoa, almond milk, etc – already have them at home. .
