This mountain top made my day, infused me with life and joy. After taking the most epic gondola ride, I found a love note in the woods made of pine cones, hiked some (I actually got in 9 miles today- taking a bus, a gondola, a cogwheel train, and a normal train had me thinking I didn’t walk much) and sat upon a bench like these two. I gleefully made a simple sandwich with fresh cheese and salami and took in the view; cowbells rhythmically tuning to the sounds of gamelan. So magical. /// btw, all cows here are PASTURED AND GRASS FED 😍. It’s just how they do it 👌🏻 /// The 40 minute cogwheel ride down was also incredible. Pretty sure we broke records with how many wow’s said in a 40-minute time span... ended the day with a fresh jump in the lake 💦 #iloveswitzerland thank you @pilatus
Switzerland is Adventureland (and quite possibly my new favorite country I didn’t know would be). Everyone seems to take advantage of this beautiful terrain and their able bodies. From city to glacier, everyone hikes and bikes and skis and more. I’ve never seen so many bikes in a city or cyclists in the mountains... and these kids! They slid into my bus station today fully geared riding these scooters; super stoked to jump on a bus that would take them up the mountain to bomb down some insane small and windy roads. I can’t say they weren’t scolded by a couple moms who worried for their lives. While I agree what they’re doing is dangerous (their back wheels basically have no traction but I assume that’s the point!), I totally cheered them on for their adventurous spirits and wished them a safe journey. #adventureswitzerland
Nature heals, every which way. Destruction and Renewal. Matilija Canyon, Ojai, CA. June 1, 2018. First time back here since the fires and the flooding. It’s bursting with colors. Shades of lime green springing up from the burnt blackened trees and ash. Bright lavender wild flowers on the hill. Sprinkles of sage and random huge sunflowers. The most breathtaking is the clearing of trees. They’re bowing in the direction of the river flow so I can see the whole valley like I’ve never seen before. Just wow.
Hotlanta, 2017. Television sets are no joke. The hours they run crew, cast, and catering are insane and unsustainable. Yet, it all gets done. And with a little help from friends, it’s much more manageable... So we swooped in to bring some magic, grounding, home-cooked food, girl-time, exploration, and love.
