Currently listening to “You Must Remember This” and dreading my upcoming dentist appointment. Does anyone have similar podcast recommendations?
Ps old photo, wearing @alexandani and one of my favorite vintage blouses.
I woke up at 6 AM and watched “Gilda” (Rita 😍) while I drank my coffee and worked on a project, and I’m wearing black and brown in this photo. Who am I? (Except for the Gilda part...that is no surprise.) I’ve since been watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents while editing, even though I’ve seen most of the episodes. Which begs the question: other than TCM, where do you watch your favorite old movies and tv shows? What are your favorites?
New blog post: how to style overall dresses four different ways (link in bio). I’m definitely not a minimalist — shocking, I know — but I *do* wear my clothing over and over and over, which is the way it should be. I’m bringing back an old series I used to do where I show you several ways I wear one piece of clothing — something we used to do in the good old days of Flickr’s wardrobe remix, and also what @styled_by_christine has been doing for years and years (follow her)! Click the link in my bio to see all four outfits, and let me know if you have any requests! http://liketk.it/2ziy9 #email@example.com
I can usually function through whatever I’m going through, but between being sick and having some personal issues, I needed to just take some time off from the internet. I haven’t been shooting, writing, doing stories, or replying to comments and messages on the few posts I’ve made (I’m sorry, I’ll catch up this week) and not because I’m depressed — I don’t know what I am — but because I’ve been focusing on spending time with my family. I don’t have time to let myself be down and I definitely cannot take off another day from my responsibilities, because this sometimes-difficult-to-explain internet job is what affords me the luxury of spending time with my family when we need each other most.
Every time you leave a comment, like a photo, or make a purchase from my collaborations or affiliate links, you’re supporting me and helping me grow. As much as I get so tired of people complaining about the algorithm, I also get it. It’s because our jobs are based on numbers: our following, our engagement, our conversion rates, the amount of times our stories are viewed. Taking one day off can affect our numbers for the whole month. Taking many days off, as I have, can make followers drop off and new posts get hidden. I don’t care about popularity; I don’t base my self-worth on the number of likes or how many followers I have. The only reason why those things matter to me: it’s my job. It’s what gives me the flexibility to be where I need to be and to help when it is needed, in a way that many traditional careers would not allow. It has given me creative freedom and financial stability and precious time with the people I care about, all while doing the things I love. For that, I’m eternally grateful. Thank you for sticking around. ❤️
Farewell, 2018. This whole year was a blur, and since I’m still in a foggy state of flu recovery that makes my already bad memory even worse, I’ll have to write about it another day. See you all in the new year! ❤️✨
What are your plans for New Year’s Eve? I got a mean case of the flu for Christmas, so I’ve been holed up and recovering at my sister’s in hopes of being well in time for it. We don’t do anything crazy on NYE, just normally wear pajamas, eat snacks, play games and watch the ball drop. That’s the way I prefer it!
This year’s version of last year’s photo in our coordinating pajamas. How did we do? There’s - huge selection of matching pjs at @eBayFashion! They have this season’s items and trends from top brands, so if you missed something in store or just want to search for a great price, make sure to check it out! I’ve bought so many great pieces from #eBayFashion over the years, including that vintage Mickey scarf replacement. Praise you, eBay! #HappeningOnEbay#ad Shop here: http://bit.ly/FallTrends3
