A question I am asked at least once a day 🤦🏻♀️ when trying to explain what carbohydrates are!
YES! Sweet potato is a carbohydrate 😱 and YES it is still healthy!
Anyways this isn’t a post comparing the nutritional value of sweet potato 🍠 with potato 🥔 this is a post about deep fried sweet potato chips vs deep fried potato chips 🍟
Many people believe that by ordering sweet potato chips over regular chips they are making a healthier choice. ———
The truth is you're not
It all comes down to how your potatoes are prepared. If sweet potato is deep-fried in oil like regular potato, they aren’t going to be any better for you. 🤦🏻♀️
Bottom line. Don’t pick things because they seem to be a ‘healthier’ or ‘better’ option. The issue I often see with this, is that people seem to think they can have more because it is ‘healthier’.
Pick what you love and enjoy in moderation (same boring message I know 🙊🙈)
Baked chips are the best choice regardless of the type of spud you pick! 💁🏻♀️make your own at home or ask your waitress if they bake or fry their spuds (if you want to be that person 🙋🏻♀️)
