Hey there, sunshine!☀️ Can I share a silly insecurity with you that I have? I don’t like the left side of my face. My right side is my “good” side, the one where my nose doesn’t look crooked and my jaw doesn’t look as square. I even used to always part my hair in a way to favor my good side BUT leaning into this center part not only helped my postpartum hair loss grow back better but it’s helped me to embrace half of me that I used to feel so awkward to show. Something I’ve been thinking about lately is that she’s not my BAD side just because I have a good side. She’s trying her best and really, I should let her have her time in the spotlight once in a while. So everyone, meet leftie. She may not be perfect (neither is righty and I know, I KNOW y’all might think I’m nuts for even bringing this up but I want to be a lil vulnerable and toss it into the world) BUT she is 100% me and well, she’s growing on me—pun intended 🌤
Anyone else relate to this? Secretly take “prom pics” with girlfriends where everyone faces the same way or only take selfies with a certain arm? Let me know if you are a righty or lefty 👈👉
Having a really good skin moment so I felt like I should share 😜 It may be surprising to hear, but wearing liquid foundation didn’t come naturally to me when I first started wearing makeup because it would always look like it was breaking apart, too cakey, not matching my skintone, and disappearing by the end of the day. Thank goodness my techniques have improved over time, and especially for product formulas getting so much more inclusive and better too!✌️✌🏻✌🏼✌🏽✌🏿
I have a new “basics” video up sharing how to get foundation to look flawless all day featuring my current obsession, the #diorforever foundations which are now available at @sephora. Check my bio for the clickable link! 👉 https://youtu.be/adbRQt9LVdM
Some evenings when the kids are asleep and it’s just the two of us talking about the news, politics, race, religion, our future, our past, and every minutia in between, I just can’t even believe how much of a best friend you are to me and how mentally, emotionally, and spiritually fulfilled I am when we just TALK. How is it that I still laugh and cry from these conversations 18 years into our relationship? I thank God for you and how convoluted but intentional our path was to find each other. I just uncovered this 10-year old gem from an old online photo storage account that was closing, and since I didn’t post for us on Valentine’s Day, this is dedicated to you @ben.ja.mins. My soulmate and the best husband, father, and shell-necklace-baggy-pants wearing boyfriend there ever was 🤣
P.S. this was also an early @kassiaphoy photo taken in Lawrence, KS 📸
When your hands are full but your heart is fuller 🥰 So thankful for @ubereats & @starbucks for doing hangry moms a delivery solid cause y’all know mommy brain is SO REAL and I def forget to stop and eat sometimes #ad 🤪
Not just me, right? What was your worst case of preggo/mommy brain? #UberEats
Dreaming about how I can get home and crawl into bed with my warm, sexy heating pad and steamy humidifier because my voice is raspy, the nasal juices are flowing, and this cough just WON’T STOP! And oh baby, he’s so s’naughty (snotty, ok I tried) and we are all siiiick AF 😏🤧😷
Hope your Valentine’s Day is going better than ours, sick and waiting at the airport for our delayed flight back! ❤️💺
❤️ Lap baby 🛫
Every time we fly with little ones there is this intense anxiety that hovers around the whole experience. There’s nothing that people hate more than a crying baby on a flight, plus there’s a metric ton of stuff you need to bring. Like, I really had no idea just how insane it was before I had kids and I look at fellow traveling parents and we all have this war-beaten look of solidarity that we give each other as we drag car seats and carts of luggage through the airport 😑
This was Ezra’s first time on an airplane and I’m relieved to say he did so well sleeping most of the flight that the other passengers around us actually gave him multiple compliments. WHEW! Another bullet dodged thanks to a clutch inflatable breastfeeding pillow and Ezzie the chillest dude 👶🏻 We’ll be flying with BOTH kids in a couple months so if you have any travel tips, please share your wisdom and advice!
The next time someone asks me if I’d consider weightlifting I’ll just send them this. Everyday is leg day 🤣🦵 Can we please talk about squats when you need to pick up something from the floor?!
When I first moved to LA from Kansas I thought I could leave all my winter coats and sweaters behind and laughed at girls wearing their puffers in 60 degrees, but SoCal has made me soft! Guilty as charged 🥶🤫
📍Where are you & what is the weather like there?
Happy Lunar New Year! ❤️
I don’t know about you but I am so ready to dust off the old and embrace myself with new eyes. It’s tradition in Asian cultures to tidy up before Lunar New Year so this morning I decided to do a clean look with zero makeup on the eyes just to shake up my normal routine. Every once in a while it’s such a mental breath of fresh air to go without one part of my makeup that I feel dependent on to get reacquainted with my features and any lurking insecurities. Shockingly, I felt so great about it when I went to rub away my panda eyes and realized hey, there’s no makeup there to be smudged! Wonky eyelids be darned, I’m just embracing it this year 💪👁
What’s your one makeup vice that you’d have a hard time going without?
