I grew up in Richmond California and it wasn’t full of waterfalls, sunsets, and beach scenes. There were people all around me struggling on the daily. Violence, drug addiction, gang activity, spiritual abandonment. A lot of my work is for them...those trapped in the struggle of life. Everyone...regardless of race, gender, socio-economics, religion ect...have walked through some sort of struggle. Try to remember that when you see your fellow man.

One of my favorite things about the camera is how it enables to to tell the story of the forgotten. Life’s stories are all foundational and they have the ability to change the world.
This is one of my first shots with the @fujifilm_northamerica XH-1. So far I’m very impressed by this camera. Looking forward to playing with the video capabilities this weekend.

Never forget your ability to put yourself in position for the winners seat. It’s not about waiting for anyone...including yourself. Don’t let parts of your own being hold the rest of you back. #blackjoyparade#oakland
The art of story telling is as old as human beings. The need to tell stories has been explored throughout every culture to have ever existed. One of the things I love about photography is the uniqueness in the medium that allows you to tell a story and leaves enough space for the viewer to create their own.
