For as long as I can remember I have struggled with various forms and levels of depression and anxiety. I was a reserved kid in school. Not the outcast, but not the popular kid. Somewhere in the quiet middle. As I grew older I learned that a lot of what I faced was known as “social anxiety”. As I’ve gotten older it’s gotten better -I’ve developed ways of dealing with it- but it hasn’t gone away. I still feel my heart speed up when I get into a conversation. I run out of things to talk about quickly. I once heard the term “outgoing introvert” and that pretty much sums me up perfectly. As a creative person, I deal with a seemingly insurmountable amount of self doubt on a nearly day to day basis. Waves of depression set in and I find myself at times asking why I even need to get out of bed. Which brings me to @thebrogliebox.
My girlfriend Julia lost her brother Justin to suicide 4.5 years ago. For the last year and a half she has been working on starting her own business in an effort to help those who also may be struggling. BroglieBox is a quarterly subscription box that caters to mental health and wellness with items that can assist and aide in the recovery of various mental illnesses. It isn’t meant to be a replacement for professional help, but a “toolkit” that’s delivered to your door. The box can be good for just stress relief or general “maintenance” of mental health and not just if you have an illness.
BroglieBox has officially launched. If you or anyone you know may be struggling, I encourage you to check out the site and follow @thebrogliebox! Feel free to reach out to me in my DM’s or here in the comments with any questions, or if you just want someone to talk to if you’re feeling low and I’ll do my best to respond to everyone. I love you all 🤓
