All these lube, candle and perfume give aways. The #10featuredteachers initiative. My daily sanity. None of these things would happen without this amazing man @simonviii. I’m a few weeks from vanishing from social media for a spell, but I can’t help but feel grateful. Feel lucky. And most of all feel happy because this human entered my life. His art, humor, understanding and love is like nothing else. I want to raise up the people who love and help me, and even when he tries to low key crazy fart under the sheets, I couldn’t love him more. It’s hard to be away from you but five years feels so good. He’s the best thing to ever happen to me. Sorry to gush but I’m into transparency these days. Love you @simonviii , thank you. ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️
As someone that has struggled with anxiety, depression, addiction and dark thoughts this day is very important to me. Through the years I have tried to talk to as many people that have reached out to me as possible because I know first hand how important an understanding voice is. Sometimes people aren’t ready to be receptive to your pain and depression and will only further hurt you in your time of need, but please do not let those people hold power over you. They are toxic and often like to make you feel everything you are suffering through is all your fault. I’m here to say that while taking accountability is important, it is NOT all your fault and you are not alone. I cherish the people that have reached out to me throughout my life and hold them very dear, and am here to hopefully show some solidarity and support to those in need. I will also happily continue to chat with people feeling helpless as much as I can. Sending so much love. ❤️ 1-800-273-8255 (for more info, link in bio)
Ahhh I can’t believe it but it’s time for my final #10featuredteachers the amazing @christinemronan !!! I’m picking her not just because she’s an incredible friend and person but also because she truly inspired this project and opened my eyes to the dire situations so many teachers face in regards to funding for their classrooms! I’m also beyond thrilled to have this drive/initiative spread onwards to 6 friends who have all agreed to continue the #10featuredteachers challenge (?)....(personally I really enjoyed interacting with each teacher and seeing their behind the scenes pictures, so it was less a challenge and more a pleasure!) Please go follow and continue the teacher love to the six new people taking it on! @busyphilipps@pieraluisa@jvn@bethditto@bradengraeber and @kiernanshipka ...a HUGE thank you to everyone that donated, to these six friends carrying the torch and mostly to all these incredible teachers!!!! In Christine’s words...”I’m a first-year teacher at a public elementary school in the Crenshaw district of South LA, and one area especially where I could benefit from additional support is setting up my classroom. Our school is a Title 1 school that serves a low-income community, and there are limited funds to support the needs of its student body. As a new teacher, I am starting from scratch in terms of outfitting my classroom—there is no budget allocated to helping teachers purchase supplies, build classroom libraries, etc. My students are bright, loving and resilient, and I am working to create a physical classroom space that is clean, safe and stimulating. I am especially focused on building an inclusive classroom library—where students can see themselves and their community represented in the books they are reading. In just the first few weeks of the school year, I can already see how much my students find solace in art, enjoy reading for pleasure (Lego books, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Harry Potter have been big hits so far!) and are excited about STEM opportunities. It’s energizing to see young students with so much passion and enthusiasm and I want to be able to serve them in continuing to develop these critical skills.” ❤️(link in bio!)

Inspirational women and night! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We got an NYC teacher for #9! Going a little early bc tour life! Meet Rei! (On the the right) ...in his words “I am a Special Education and English Language Learner teacher in Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS). I need materials that help special education students with their disabilities and allow them succeed. I have spent well over $300 dollars on materials, decorations, chair bands for students with ADHD, and other disabilities. Materials on my list may seem non-traditional and that is because materials for special education students are different from those of General Education students. These materials are NOT cheap but every little bit helps. WHEELS is a Title 1 school, more than 40% of our students come from low-income families, in a gentrifying neighborhood where the cost of living is rapidly increasing. The school serves the Latino, Black, and Jewish communities of northern Manhattan. Our students look to us teachers and administrators for help with materials, uniforms, lunch, translation services, health services, and mental health advocacy. I am in need of materials that help my special education students achieve their maximum potential on their road to graduation.” #10featuredteachers (link in bio!) thanks Rei!!!!!!
Hello all! Early post bc I got an early flight for tour! Meet Monica, teacher #8 for #10featuredteachers ...in her words... “Hello!! I teach 1st graders in Pomona, California. They are 6 and learning to read. They show up to school excited and happy. My students come from very diverse and also non traditional families and unfortunately, they do not often see themselves or their families reflected in stories told to them. I am in need of books that include experiences and characters that my students can relate to. These types of stories make literature come alive and when the students connect to literature, it makes the experience of learning to read more meaningful. Books can make us feel seen and understood. Many of my students do not have resources at home and so the class library is vital! Thank you for helping. ❤️” Lets get these kids some books! Thank you all so much and especially Monica!
