“The best advice I’ve given is you know what you deserve, and you should not settle for less. It’s not wrong to ask for what you want—you know your value, make sure that other people know too.” A walk with @danielleprescod, Style Director @BET and woman #incharge wearing our Finn Long Cardigan. “I am inspired by Gabby because she is a very open spirit. I am a little more serious and reserved, but Gabby has always been very friendly. She has no fears about people, and I think that is a really wonderful way to be.” Meet this week’s women #incharge, @danielleprescod, Style Director @BET wearing our Finn Long Cardigan and her sister, @gabbyprescod, Senior Fashion Market Editor @bustle wearing our Finn Striped Dress. “I wrestled with my curls for years...it was not until I was almost thirty that I discovered my curls could be an asset. The realization came about after my friend Ara Gallant was hired to photograph me for the cover of @interviewmag in March 1976. Ara knew how to make anyone look sexy. After shooting a few rolls, he started to spray my Long and very straight hair with water. I was horrified! A few days later, when I saw the two options for the cover, there was no question as to which one was better...The next day I let my hair air dry naturally and it was the first time I wore my curls with pride and enjoyed being me.” - From @therealdvf’s memoir, The Woman I Wanted To Be
“Some of my favorite outfits go from a casual boiler suit to wear with boots to work or a more formal tailored jumpsuit that I pair with heels at night--I want easy and flattering pieces.” A walk with @gabriellagivenchy, a London-based fashion market editor and woman #incharge wearing our New Jeanne Two Silk Jersey Wrap Dress layered over our Gardena Logo Skirt. Crawling Chain is an artful reimagination of one of our six sister prints, Chain Link. The original print holds a special place in the history of the brand as it was the print Diane wore in her first ad in 1970. Decades later, it’s still relevant, making it truly timeless. Have you ever owned a Chain Link style?
“I was always inspired by my great uncle, Hubert de Givenchy, and my uncle, James Taffin, and how each made their own unique mark on the fashion world. So from a young age I had always been drawn to fashion.” Meet @gabriellagivenchy a London-based fashion market editor and woman #INCHARGE wearing our New Jeanne Two Silk Jersey Wrap Dress layered over our Gardena Logo Skirt. This month we were inspired by one of our most celebrated prints: Chain Link. Over the years, we’ve revisited it many times, in different colorways and scales — but we love to return to what works best. Always a classic, forever in your closet.
