Here’s a throwback to this time last year and one of my all-time favorite #downtownlaramie projects.
I stumbled into a #thekindnessrocksproject rock in Pittsburgh for the @natlmainstreet conference in early 2017 and was determined to bring it to Laramie. I spray-painted allllll the rocks in my front yard and then partnered with the @uofwyoming@hsiconnect class to paint messages, designs and words of encouragement on all the rocks. They were scattered around town, meant to be little reminders for those passing by to smile and continue to spread joy themselves.
The project was brief, and it appears most rocks have fled Laramie (though I did see one tagged in Iceland! 🤗), but it was a super-fun way to connect with the students and bring some extra ♥️ to #downtownlaramie. Did you ever find a #laramierockskindness rock? What did you think?

Good morning friends. My name is Jess, and I am taking over this week! 👋🏼 Here’s the thing. You actually know me, you just don’t know that you do... (#whatthewhat)
I am Laramie Main Street’s Communications Coordinator. My job fluctuates between running the @downtownlaramie social media pages, picking up beer cups at street dances, delivering @shopsmall balloons and watching you hooligans from the train bridge during Jubilee Days. And I freaking love it.
Fun fact: I have spent almost the entirety of my professional career on the same block in #downtownlaramie. After graduating from @uwyo.cojo I started as a small business owner (more on that soon), became a volunteer for Main Street next door and now I am a full blown employee parked around the corner at @thedurlacher (downtown’s newest + super coolest co-working space).
That’s me in the middle in my Durlacher “class photo,” surrounded by just a few of the many downtowners that I can call my co-workers. I’m looking forward to sharing my love of our downtown and a bit about what we are doing from behind the scenes at Laramie Main Street for you this week!

Waking up to smell this coffee on this lazy Sunday morning. Thanks so much for letting me take over the #downtownlaramie account this week! I’ve enjoyed every second of it. Don’t forget to hop over to my account, @mypilgrimsoul and give me a follow for more photos and features on places and businesses in Wyoming and Northern Colorado!

Well if my husband loves #downtownlaramie for its bars, I love it for the #laramiemuralproject. The murals are hidden around every corner and each one is unique and beautiful and let’s be honest, a blogger’s dream! I think this wall of blooms of my favorite, which mural is your favorite?? | #mylaramie photo by @mypilgrimsoul
@thebentandrusty: my favorite shop for unique gifts, both old and new, on a rainy afternoon! You just never know what you’ll find, but you’ll always find something in this one-of-a-kind shop! | #mylaramie photo by @mypilgrimsoul
I loved spending the morning at @nightheronbooks browsing their awesome selection of used books. Then grab a cup of coffee and sit down and dive into your new [old] book! | #mylaramie photo by @mypilgrimsoul
