Ok...so thanksgiving (turned into a week lol) is done, my birthday is done, time to be back on it! 👊🏼
My deal is I get so busy I actually don’t eat enough throughout the day. My body takes really well to 5 meals a day. 3 main meals & two snacks in between. Usually with a protein shake somewhere in there & lots of water. (I’m the absolute worst with water) When I go all day on a meal & snacks, I usually eat a ton when I get home or get full really fast when I finally sit down to eat. My body actually holds on to weight when I don’t eat enough & I bloat! That makes sense bc your body doesn’t know when it is going to get its nutrients next, therefor it stores what it ate last instead of using it to fuel your body! When I’m on 5/6 meals a day I am at my leanest! My body knows it will get fed in 2-3 hours so it burns what I just gave it. With eating more smaller meals I get natural energy from my foods....like I just drank a cup of coffee ☕️ 🙌🏽 It’s pretty wild what the body can do.
So I’m going to download an app to help me track I’m meeting my goals & track what I eat when I’m on the road traveling & have to substitute. Ive used @myfitnesspal in the past but wanted to see if y’all have used any that you like? Comment below! Also comment below your meal plan or what works best for you. So, it’s my birthday. Funny because I don’t feel another year older. But what IS wild is to think about where I was this time last year. Where I was in every aspect of my life. I am in a completely new space now. I have grown so so much. Mentally, spiritually, emotionally, stress & anxiety wise, what I need to be happy, knowing who I am as a woman...so I guess that is the goal right? To grow each year. And that I have done. I’m not where I want to be but I’m exactly where He wants me at this point of my life. 💛🎂 I’m healthy, happy, & have amazing friends & family. I am proud of myself. And I’m not afraid to say that out loud! ☺️ Now, on to the best year of my life! I can feel it...
Recently Hurricane Florence destroyed large parts of eastern North Carolina (where I too spent a lot of years living & going to school). I was heavily effected when I heard about one particular women's shelter that was wiped out by the storm. They provide emergency shelter for over 1300 adults & children each year who are involved in domestic violence situations but they could no longer operate after the hurricane. I recently partnered with @tomorrow to help rebuild Domestic Violence Shelter of Wilmington, NC! Together we made sure shelter residents received over 20 @tomorrow mattresses.
