After a highly enjoyable performance of Brahms Double concerto with Josep Caballé Domenech @maximilianhornung and @csphilharmonic .... Somehow Brahms makes the near constant combat between violin, cello, and orchestra deeply cathartic. And ahhhh and that second movement (G string anyone?)
I grew up studying violin alongside my sister @ebeilman and I learned so much from her. We haven’t gotten to play together as much recently so last night’s performance with her leading the viola section of the @utahsymphony was extra special. Thank you Conner Covington, @deervalleyresort and @utahsymphony for a memorable performance of Tchaikovsky violin concerto!
Devastated to leave Sydney after an unforgettable week. 3 stellar performances of Jennifer Higdon’s Violin Concerto (thank you Giancarlo and the outstanding musicians of the @sydneysymphonyorchestra ), copious amounts of exceptional coffee, plenty of breathtaking walks along the coast (even in the middle of winter, you can tan and swim outside- paradise anyone?), and one deeply satisfied violinist.... hopefully more again soon 🤞🏻
Testing out some Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with @ludovic_morlot and @oslmusic for tonight’s concert at @caramoor . Everyone knows Tchaik but wow do these guys play with fire and verve. Oh yeah, and the Caramoor grounds ain’t too bad either 🤩
#Tbt to the first time I picked up a violin while living in Houston (thank you @ebeilman ) 23 years later, I’m back to solo with @housymphony There are a few moments when it really hits you what you can accomplish with hard work, so forgive the humble brag as I gratefully come #fullcircle
